Action Alert
(posted August 31, 2009)

Take Action

Help NVHR fill the room with congressional staffers

Invite your Congressman and staff to the Congressional briefing*

Presented by:
National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable

“The Experts' Perspective:

Gaps and Strategies in the Hepatitis Crisis”

Forging a National Strategy for Chronic Hepatitis & Liver Cancer Prevention

Date: September 9, 2009

Time: 3:30 – 5:00 pm

Location: 122 Cannon House Office Building

*Addresses for congressional staffers are: firstname.lastname@mail.house.gov

If you need help finding your representative’s contact information, here’s a helpful website that includes phone numbers: http://www.house.gov

When you call
1)  Ask to speak to the health policy staffer.

2) If you are referred to voice mail, leave a detailed message. You will find additional information on the attached flyer

3) Follow  up with an email including the attached flyer. House staff emails are all formatted the same way: firstname.lastname@house.gov

If you don’t connect directly with the staff person, ask whomever answers the phone to give you the correct spelling of the person’s name so that you can send the email.

4)  You can mention that the congressman/woman will receive a “dear colleague” letter of invitation from Congressman Honda.

5) Please let the staff person know that it is important to you, as a constituent, that they attend this briefing.

6) You can also tell them that there will be cookies and ice cream served at the briefing (we all know food is a great incentive!)

Thanks!
