Hello:

I am Christine Kukka, HBV Project Manager with the Hepatitis C Support Project (HCSP). Every month, I scour dozens of medical journals to find out the latest about hepatitis B treatment and disease progression and prevention. The type of reports I look for can range from a study on a successful community approach to screening and immunizing immigrants against hepatitis B, to an analysis that identifies which patients would benefit most from pegylated interferon.

1. In this month's HBV Journal Review, posted at the HCSP HBV dedicated site, the HBV Advocate, readers can learn about how lives and health care dollars are saved when treatment begins early, how in vitro fertilization can transmit HBV, and how doctors lack clear guidelines about when it's safe for patients to stop antiviral treatment.

2. Also... be sure to check out the HCV Advocate Newsletter for the month of March, 2011.
